Since 1984, SWAGLY has provided a safe space for all gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, questioning youth and their straight allies 14-23 to socialize, learn and share. Our weekly meetings consist of social time, introductions, community announcements and a structured conversation about issues facing GLBTQ youth today. These include coming out, coping with stress, working with relationships, and various discussions about drug abuse and safer sex. The Steering Committee is a youth advisory team made up of five to six youth members who have proven themselves as LEADERS. It meets every week before the general SWAGLY meetings and is responsible for planning events, speakers, outreach, training, and weekly topics. Each meeting is facilitated by a Steering Committee Member, with the rest of the team working together as co-facilitators. Come check SWAGLY out at our next weekly meeting!
